Dubai, UAE

The University of Dubai (UD) and Women in Cyber Security Middle East (WiCSME) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch CyberSHE, an expansive training programme aimed at empowering women in cybersecurity across the UAE and the region.

The agreement was formalised on UD’s campus, with Dr Eesa Mohammed Bastaki (President, University of Dubai) and Dr Reem Faraj Al-Shammari (Chairperson, WiCSME) leading the signing. The ceremony was also attended by senior WiCSME UAE leaders including Irene Corpuz, Heide Young and Shafeeqa Shakri, alongside Dr Hussam Al Hamdi, Assistant Professor and Director of the Cyber-Security & Applied Resilience (C-SAR) Centre at UD.

Access for UD students and recent graduates to mentoring, workplace-readiness modules, and technical training aligned with industry demands.

Support from UD via access to the C-SAR Centre, its faculty, cyber-labs and academic resources to enhance the quality and scale of CyberSHE.

Commitment by both parties to build inclusive talent pipelines and bolster the UAE’s cyber-resilience through female participation and industry-academic collaboration.

Pioneering cutting-edge research and technological advancements to lay the foundational groundwork for a secure and resilient digital landscape of the future hyper-connected society.
