C-SAR Supports IEEE CyberX Day 2026, Advancing Hands-On Cybersecurity Education

The Cyber-Security and Applied Resilience (C-SAR) Center at the University of Dubai proudly supported IEEE CyberX Day 2026, an impactful initiative organized by the IEEE UAE Section in collaboration with the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), with support from Huawei, ZINAD, and C-SAR.

IEEE CyberX Day 2026 aimed to bridge the gap between cybersecurity education, industry practice, and national cyber resilience by providing students with a realistic, hands-on learning environment that mirrors real-world cyber threats and operational challenges. The event reinforced the importance of experiential learning in preparing future cybersecurity professionals to address evolving digital risks.

The event was opened with the participation and support of H.E. Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, Honorary Chair of the IEEE UAE Section, and Prof. Hussain Al-Ahmad, Chair of the IEEE UAE Section. Their leadership and continued commitment play a vital role in empowering student-focused initiatives that strengthen the national cybersecurity ecosystem.

C-SAR also extends its sincere appreciation to Eng. AbdulHakem Al Olama, Director of the Cyber Security Services Department at the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), for his valuable contribution in strengthening alignment between cybersecurity talent development and national security priorities.

The event featured distinguished speakers Eng. Ahmed Alzarooni, CEO of Techfirm Technology LLC, and Major Expert Eng. Khalifa Mohammad Al Room, Head of the Software and Malware Forensics Section at Dubai Police. Their insights provided students with practical perspectives from both industry and law enforcement, highlighting real-world challenges, threat landscapes, and career pathways in cybersecurity.

Through strong collaboration between IEEE, government entities, academic institutions, and industry partners, IEEE CyberX Day 2026 successfully contributed to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to a secure and resilient digital future.
